After stage 4 of the 2025 Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard expressed satisfaction with his performance despite not securing second place.

“It was a brutal final, I can be happy with how I felt and how I, and the team did. I was closer for the second place today, It’s a pity I couldn’t take it”, said Vingegaard.

He also highlighted his physical condition, noting, “I felt really strong today. I’m very happy to have stayed with him [Tadej Pogacar] on the climb. We’re pleased with how things are going. I think I put out one of the best one-minute power efforts of my career, so I’m really happy with how I rode.”

Additionally, Vingegaard commented on the stage dynamics, saying, “It was UAE who took charge. You can have your own plans, but when they go on the offensive like that, all you can really do is try to follow. The key was to be first into the descent. It was quite tricky, so positioning was crucial.”

Looking ahead to the stage 5 time trial, Vingegaard said: “It’s obviously not the most favourable time trial for me. I think it suits Remco [Evenepoel] better — and maybe also Pogacar. But of course, I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”
