Domenico Pozzovivo won the sixth stage of the Tour de Suisse. The rider took the lead on the last descent and crossed the finish line solo.
The Italian crossed the finish line seconds ahead of Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates), Ion Izagirre (Bahrain Merida), Mathias Frank (AG2R-La Mondiale) and Simon Spilak (Katusha-Alpecin).
The bonus seconds he earned for the stage win also saw him edge ahead of Damiano Caruso at the top of the overall standings.
The stage winner now tops the overall standings with BMC Racing Team’s Damiano Caruso in second and LottoNl-Jumbo’s Steven Kruijswijk 13 seconds behind.
