Conor McGregor, known for his exploits in the UFC ringrecord and his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr, commissioned a totally custom carbon bike from Irish bike brand FiftyOne Bikes.

conor mcgregor bikeRoad cycling is an important part of McGregor’s training regime, so it was really only a matter of time before the 29-year-old had to have the thing that every cyclist dreams about – a totally custom carbon rig that reflects his style and his commitment to performing at the highest possible level.

“The link was kind of simple,” says Aidan Duff, founder of FiftyOne. “I know one of Conor’s coaching staff from my cycling days, Dr Julian Dalby. He was a mentor and hero of mine, teaching me and my annoying schoolboy mates how to train better and corner faster. We built a bike for Julian and when Conor got wind of the whole custom carbon made in Ireland thing, he just really wanted one.”

While FiftyOne typically specialize in traditional race bikes, every one made is unique in its geometry, build, and paint. And certainly, this machine decorated with 24K gold-leaf bike and the words, “Notorious McGregor”, ghosted across it is no different.

“What we tried to do is build it within his character, I would say. Obviously, when you’re dealing with gold leaf, it’s a balancing act between making it look distinguished and classy, and looking tacky. Hopefully, we’ve achieved that. We’ll find out for sure when he gets it. He requested the gold leaf.”

Fizik provides a special Antares saddle with matched gold panels. The rest of the build is from the house of SRAM, with Red eTap wireless shifting and Zipp 454 NSW wheels. The bike features a 53/39T crank and 11-28T cassette.
