The Team Ineos rider was caught up in a crash in the bunch with about 65km of the race remaining, falling into a ditch. He reacted with fury as he made his way to his feet, tossing a bike into Jens Debuscherre.

Jens Debusschere said after the race that he was ready to punch Moscon after the incident but thought better of it.
“I didn’t crash but I tumbled into the ditch and was crawling back out of it, then I had a bike – not even mine – thrown straight to my head. I had to raise my hand to protect myself in order not to get it into my face”.
