One of cycling’s most famous climbs, Passo dello Stelvio, gets prepared ahead of the cycling season with controlled explosions.
A video posted on Twitter shows how local authorities use controlled explosions to disturb the snow at the top of the climbs peaks sending it rushing doing the face. Towards the end of the video, the clearing snow reveals the snaking road shape of the climb which was previously hidden.
