Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo–Visma) held off a late surge from Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates) to win stage 4 of the UAE Tour.

“This one is really nice because all the sprinters are here,” said Groenewegen.

“The team did a very good job for the last 3km, and then we made a move – I had a really strong lead out and then I was in position to get past [Sam] Bennett.”

Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) had an uneventful day and so holds on to his overall race lead as the peloton returns to Jebel Hafeet on stage five.
